January favourites

At the end of last year, I started receiving more and more messages saying that you would like to see more recommendations on the products I use and love. So I decided that this year I will attempt to share monthly on some of the things that I am really liking and that I would like to recommend to my friends.

I really like this kind of content from others, because, if I purchase a beauty product, it will always be something I have seen good reviews on. It is extremely rare that I purchase expensive beauty products and most of the things I use are found on the shelves of a drug store. I am convinced it is possible to purchase good beauty products, that look great most of the day, not spending someone else’s minimum wage. If you are interested in these kinds of recommendations I would love for you to follow along.

First I would like to start with something I discovered at the end of last year. I discovered this line of products form Amway and fell in love after the first use. The products felt clean, didn’t have a strong, overwhelming scent and did a great job. I have tried more of the products from this line and even though they were all good, these are my absolute favorites.

First I start with cleansing the face with the gel. It is really good at removing makeup, which is important to me because I love a low maintenance skincare routine and I really don’t like using five different products for clean my face in the evening. After cleansing the skin doesn’t feel tight or stripped. Afterward I use the tonic, that clears the pores. And lastly the moisturizer. The moisturizer is empty already and I am looking at purchasing the next one because I loved it so much. I really loved the fact that the moisturizer sinks into the skin almost immediately and make-up applies on top of it beautifully.

Since Amway moisturizer was used up and it was just after Christmas, I started using these two products. The first is my absolute favorite from last year. I used so many tubes of this, that even my husband noticed I love this product and got it for me as a Christmas present. This is definitely fourth or fifth. La Roche Posay products are available at the pharmacies and they are often on offer. Effeclair Duo is meant to visibly reduce blemishes and penetrates deep into pores to clear even stubborn blackheads and whiteheads. I bought it because I was noticing that there are red marks on my face weeks and sometimes even months after even the smallest blemish is long gone. After using this regularly I noticed I no longer have this problem.

In the Winter, in combination with La Roche Posay treatment, I have been using the moisturizing gel from Stenders wild rose line. I use this product in the morning because it is so fresh, light and sinks into the skin so quickly. I find it is especially necessary to properly moisturize the skin in the Winter and this product does that really well. I really like the packaging of this product as well because it comes with a pump and that products the product from contact with air or bacteria and the product is being pushed upwards which means you can use the product until the last drop. The two other moisturizers I mentioned previously I cut open with scissors to use up until the end and not waste any product.

I just bought the second Essence camouflage concealer for my under-eyes. I think this procuct has so many advantages. It perfectly covers the dark circles under my eyes, blends out very easily, you only need a small amount of the product to brighten the under-eyes and it has a very affordable price. I purchased this product in Drogas.

My last monthly favorite is a product I had seen everywhere! It have heard so many praises on this product that when I saw a mini Benefit Hoola Bronzing powder in England I decided to finally try it out for myself. This bronzer blends out almost instantly and I really like it’s undertone and how natural it is. I think Winter is the time when it is easy to look over-bronzed with a bronzer that has a very warm undertone so I try to stay away from those in this season. I highly recommend this powder. I don’t think we can purchase in Latvia, but it is sold in Asos.
